As a teacher I believe in a multidisciplinary approach to art education. Students should be exposed to many artists and art making methods from a variety of cultures and backgrounds. I value the practice of research and investigation by the students before creating to enable them to make conscious design choices. A goal of mine as an art teacher is to engage my students more thoroughly in the process of art criticism and appreciation. I think that it is crucial that students are exposed to a great quantity of art and have an ability to reflect on and discuss it.
